Learn by lyrics (learn-by-lyrics.pages.dev) is a free website for learning languages by filling in the missing words of song lyrics. This policy explains what information the website uses and why.

1. Using the website without an account

You can use Learn by lyrics without signing in. Your song history, favourites, notes, gaps, statistics and settings are then saved only in your own browser (local storage). We do not receive them.

2. If you create an account

You can sign in with an email and password, or with Google. When you do, we store:

• Your email address (and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares: your name and profile picture). We use it only to identify your account.
• Your learning data: song history (including the song lyrics you added), favourites, notes, custom gaps, statistics of the words you get right or wrong, and settings. We store it so it is the same on all your devices.

This data is kept in our database provider, Supabase. Each account can only read and change its own data.

3. Messages you send us

If you use the “Got an idea or found a bug?” box, we store your message, the name or email you choose to write (optional), the song you had open and the page language. They are kept on Cloudflare and used only to improve the website.

4. Services the website uses

To work, the website connects to these services, which receive the usual technical information of any web request (such as your IP address):

• Cloudflare: hosts the website and tells it which country a visit comes from, to show the page in that country's language.
• YouTube and Spotify: play the music through their embedded players, under their own privacy policies.
• LRCLIB and lyrics.ovh: provide song lyrics.
• MyMemory: translates the words or phrases you choose to translate.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr: provide fonts, flags and code libraries.
• Supabase and Google Sign-In: only if you create an account.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your data with anyone for advertising.
• We do not show ads and do not use tracking or analytics cookies.
• We use your Google account information only to sign you in.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account data while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and all its data at any time by writing to us through the “Got an idea or found a bug?” box on the home page (include the email of your account). Data saved only in your browser can be removed by clearing your browser's data for this website.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.

Learn by lyrics (learn-by-lyrics.pages.dev) es una web gratuita para aprender idiomas rellenando las palabras que faltan en letras de canciones. Esta política explica qué información usa la web y para qué.

1. Usar la web sin cuenta

Puedes usar Learn by lyrics sin iniciar sesión. Tu historial de canciones, favoritas, notas, huecos, estadísticas y ajustes se guardan entonces solo en tu propio navegador. No los recibimos.

2. Si creas una cuenta

Puedes entrar con email y contraseña, o con Google. En ese caso guardamos:

• Tu dirección de email (y, si entras con Google, la información básica de perfil que comparte Google: tu nombre y foto). Solo la usamos para identificar tu cuenta.
• Tus datos de aprendizaje: historial de canciones (con las letras que añadiste), favoritas, notas, huecos propios, estadísticas de las palabras que aciertas o fallas y ajustes. Los guardamos para que sean iguales en todos tus dispositivos.

Estos datos se guardan en nuestro proveedor de base de datos, Supabase. Cada cuenta solo puede leer y cambiar sus propios datos.

3. Mensajes que nos envías

Si usas el cuadro “¿Tienes alguna idea o has encontrado algún error?”, guardamos tu mensaje, el nombre o email que quieras escribir (opcional), la canción que tenías abierta y el idioma de la página. Se guardan en Cloudflare y solo se usan para mejorar la web.

4. Servicios que usa la web

Para funcionar, la web se conecta a estos servicios, que reciben la información técnica habitual de cualquier visita a una web (como tu dirección IP):

• Cloudflare: aloja la web y le indica desde qué país se entra, para mostrarla en el idioma de ese país.
• YouTube y Spotify: reproducen la música con sus reproductores integrados, con sus propias políticas de privacidad.
• LRCLIB y lyrics.ovh: proporcionan las letras.
• MyMemory: traduce las palabras o frases que eliges traducir.
• Google Fonts y jsDelivr: proporcionan tipografías, banderas y librerías de código.
• Supabase e inicio de sesión con Google: solo si creas una cuenta.

5. Lo que no hacemos

• No vendemos ni compartimos tus datos con nadie para publicidad.
• No mostramos anuncios ni usamos cookies de seguimiento o de analítica.
• Solo usamos la información de tu cuenta de Google para que puedas entrar.

6. Conservación y borrado de tus datos

Guardamos los datos de tu cuenta mientras exista. Puedes pedirnos que borremos tu cuenta y todos sus datos en cualquier momento escribiéndonos desde el cuadro de ideas y errores de la página principal (indica el email de tu cuenta). Los datos guardados solo en tu navegador se borran eliminando los datos de esta web en tu navegador.

7. Cambios

Si esta política cambia, la nueva versión se publicará en esta página con su fecha.
